rip – my 6yo laptop

My laptop had been slow and crashing for months. I knew it was on its last legs. I just never imagined that its final days would be so final. Three or four weeks ago, it wouldn’t wake up from sleep. Every few days, I would open it up and press the power button on only to be met by an unrelenting black screen. After much research and a trip to the Apple Store where I met a salesclerk whose 2006 laptop met an identical demise plus a few more days of Googling corroborating the exact same thing (a faulty logic board), I finally came to terms with the fact that my laptop was dead.

My new laptop arrived in the mail today. Yay! But Mike is calling me to bed so I will have to play with it later.

hello spring

Our neighbour down the road invited us and 4-5 other families for an egg hunt and brunch on Easter Monday. The kids were a multi-age group so the older ones took care of the little ones while the parents hung out drinking beer and some bubbly. It was such a fun group. I’m already looking forward to the next get-together.

We finally signed the boys up for skating lessons. Connor had been begging to do more skating all winter. Although it seems crazy to spend Sundays in a cold rink after such a long winter, we’re so glad we signed them up. They’re having a blast, including Cam who was not at all interested in putting his skates on until now.

We’re so proud of Connor this afternoon. He asked us to take his training wheels off and it didn’t take him long to find his balance on the bike. Mike still needs to help start him off but another day or two and he’ll flying on his own, I think.
